Developing Socially Assistive Robots that can Deliver Cognitive Assessments in Care Settings

Supervisor: Dr.Theodoros Georgiou

Advanced sensor technologies are becoming smaller, cheaper, and more wearable. Monitoring a person’s motion during recovery and rehabilitation sessions can provide invaluable information informing health professionals as well as the patient themselves, of their progress markers.

The main aim of this PhD is to investigate the use of wearable sensors within the context of technology assisted rehabilitation.

This PhD project is highly interdisciplinary, and the successful PhD candidate will need to have a strong background in HCI methods and the ability to work with (and/or prototype) wearable sensors.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me at t.georgiou@hw.ac.uk for an informal discussion about this project and how our interests fit together.
